<p>Conjoined twins Chang and Eng Bunker were world famous in the 19th Century, so much so that for a long period other conjoined siblings were commonly referred to as "Siamese twins". Born in Siam (now Thailand), the brothers were taken to America under false pretences and "exhibited."
