The Nervous System & Trauma with Irene Lyon

The Nervous System & Trauma with Irene Lyon
Coming to you a day late (my Tuesday got filled with my friend visiting and then two instagram sagas) and $1034 short (you know, the catfish scam saga), with a new episode!

My podcast episodes are usually going to be available for everyone, not just paid substack subscribers, and you can listen on substack, or on the major podcast player apps: aka, wherever you listen to podcasts.

Today I am sharing my conversation with Irene Lyon, a trauma expert, educator, and trained somatic practitioner. We talk about some of the basic of the nervous system, the body holding onto trauma, and some myths and misconceptions about how healing works.

If you’ve read The F*ck It Diet or Tired as F*ck, you know how passionate I am about this method of healing, even though… I have been knowing how much I should be getting back into focusing on it.

And, as I say at the end of the episode, I actually just now am back into focusing on it, and I’m taking Irene’s 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up. And I love it so much, I am now an affiliate for it.

So if you use my link for her program, and sign up, I will get commission :-)

You can also check out her free Healing Trauma Video Training, there’s nearly two hours of training content + application homework.

Can you tell I’m into it?

You can also find Irene on instagram here.

Reading the F*ck It Diet book and want some structure + extra belief work + bonus content + 32+ hours of video Q&A replays? You can check out my F*ck It Diet Self-Study, it’s the book companion course that uses the book as a text book.

Bye! More soon…

Seerut Chawla on Cancel Culture
Sorry for that epic podcast delay… again. I didn’t know what I was doing with moving my podcast hosting, so it delayed everything a lot. Today I’m sharing my conversation with Seerut Chawla. (We recorded back at the beginning of April! Agh!) We talk about her brief foray into cancelling someone on the internet, her change of heart, and both of our experiences waking up to the insanity and cult dynamics of cancel culture… It’s a good one!

Find Seerut’s instagram, twitter, and website.

Housekeeping:

ALSO! FINALLY! I’ve figured out how to transfer my podcast to my newsletter on substack, and to have it feed out to the established listings on apple, spotify, googs, etc… what that means is you can keep listening to it on a regular podcast player app, and/or you can sign up for my newsletter on substack and get the new podcast episodes send straight to your email (among other things.)

Go to “manage your subscription” on substack, and add the podcast feed for the podcast app of your choice. If you are a paying subscriber, you can also add your unique paid podcast feed to apple, and maybe other players (not sure that it works on spotify) and you’ll also be able to access the audio versions of paid posts on that feed, as well as any rare premium episodes.

Upcoming schedule for episode and posts:

Right now, I’ll probably release an actual podcast episode, like this, once a month. But maybe more. But I will be releasing new content, on this newsletter, once a week. Every week I will alternate free and paid content. This week is free. Next week will be a paid post (another deleted chapter from Tired as F*ck) and the following week will be another free post (the story of the one time where I accidentally spear headed an internet pile-on), and on and on alternating like that: free, paid, free, paid.

THANKS! BYE! HAPPY BELATED MEMORIAL DAY AND/OR HAPPY TUESDAY
