Talking Soundtracks: Interview with Dynamic Music Partners

BABYLON 5: THE ROAD HOME, which features Emmy-winning composers Lolita Ritmanis, Kristopher Carter, and Michael McCuistion of DYNAMIC MUSIC PARTNERS, has been nominated for Best Music – TV/Media at the 2024 ANNIE AWARDS. Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion are the first composers to write music for the series since the original composer, Christopher Franke.

The score intricately weaves driving rhythms and powerful motifs that resonate with the essence of the sci-fi narrative. Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion combine traditional orchestral elements with contemporary sounds to create the futuristic and otherworldly atmosphere of the BABYLON 5 franchise. From thrilling action sequences to poignant character moments, the score serves as a vital storyteller, enhancing every scene..

Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion have collectively earned a total of twenty-eight EMMY AWARD nominations and now seven ANNIE AWARD nominations as composers for series such as MARVEL’S AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD, JUSTICE LEAGUE, TEEN TITANS, BATMAN BEYOND, THE ZETA PROJECT and THE NEW BATMAN SUPERMAN ADVENTURES.

For TALKING SOUNDTRACKS in February 2024, Jason Drury had the pleasure of speaking with Lolita, Michael, and Kristopher via Zoom at their respective studios in California. During the conversation, we discussed BABYLON 5: THE ROAD HOME, how DYNAMIC MUSIC PARTNERS formed, their respective projects, and where it all began, BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES, which was bought together by their mentor, the late great Shirley Walker.

Throughout the show, Jason will play excerpts of their excellent music, the majority of which was picked by the composers themselves.

To send DYNAMIC MUSIC PARTNERS a message or ask a question head over to dynamicmusicpartners.com and choose the “Contact” page.

Subscribe to their mailing list for release announcements and occasional subscriber bonuses by clicking HERE!

Find them on social media at:
facebook.com/DynamicMusicPartners | instagram.com/DynamicMusicPartners | twitter.com/DynMusPartners

——

Special thanks to our Patreon supporters: Matt DeWater, David Ballantyne, Joe Wiles, Maxime, William Welch, Tim Burden, Alan Rogers, Dave Williams, Max Hamulyák, Jeffrey Graebner, Don Mase, Victor Field, Jochen Stolz, Emily Mason, Eric Skroch, Alexander Schiebel, Alphonse Brown, John Link, Andreas Wennmyr, Matt Berretta, Eldaly Morningstar, Jim Wilson, Glenn McDorman, Chris Malone, Steve Karpicz, Deniz Çağlar, Brent Osterberg, Jérôme Flick, Sarah Brouns, Aaron Collins, Randall Derchan, Angela Rabatin, Michael Poteet, Larry Reese, Thomas Tinneny, William Burke, Rudy Amaya, Stacy Livitsanis, Rick Laird, Carl Wonders, Michael Poteet, Nathan Blumenfeld, Daniel Herrin, Mike Kohutich, Scott Bordelon, James Alexander

——

Cinematic Sound Radio is fully licensed to play music by SOCAN.

Support us on Patreon
https://www.patreon.com/cinematicsoundradio

Check out our NEW Cinematic Sound Radio TeePublic Store!
https://www.teepublic.com/stores/cinematic-sound-radio

Cinematic Sound Radio
Web: http://www.cinematicsound.net
Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/cinsoundradio
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/cinematicsound

Cinematic Sound Radio Fanfare and Theme by David Coscina
https://soundcloud.com/user-970634922

Bumper voice artist: Tim Burden
http://www.timburden.com

The Flagship Show: A Chat With Patreon Member Steve Karpicz

Today we present part one of a brand new chat between host Erik Woods and Patreon member Steve Kapicz on THE FLAGSHIP SHOW on the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST.

Steve is one of three CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST patrons who signed up for the exclusive top COMPOSER TIER at the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST Patreon. He took advantage of the tier's exclusive perk to co-host a program with Erik Woods and play whatever music he wanted. As with Joe Wiles' episodes, and William Welch's episodes, Steve and Erik talked for a considerable time, so the show has been split into two parts.

During this episode, William and Erik talk about choral scores, among other things. During the show, you will hear selections from FIRST KNIGHT (Goldsmith), THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER (Poledouris), THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS (Davis), and EVIL DEAD (Banos).

I hope you enjoy the show.

——

Special thanks to our Patreon supporters: Matt DeWater, David Ballantyne, Joe Wiles, Maxime, William Welch, Tim Burden, Alan Rogers, Dave Williams, Max Hamulyák, Jeffrey Graebner, Don Mase, Victor Field, Jochen Stolz, Emily Mason, Eric Skroch, Alexander Schiebel, Alphonse Brown, John Link, Andreas Wennmyr, Matt Berretta, Eldaly Morningstar, Jim Wilson, Glenn McDorman, Chris Malone, Steve Karpicz, Deniz Çağlar, Brent Osterberg, Jérôme Flick, Sarah Brouns, Aaron Collins, Randall Derchan, Angela Rabatin, Michael Poteet, Larry Reese, Thomas Tinneny, William Burke, Rudy Amaya, Stacy Livitsanis, Rick Laird, Carl Wonders, Michael Poteet, Nathan Blumenfeld, Daniel Herrin, Mike Kohutich, Scott Bordelon, James Alexander

——

Cinematic Sound Radio is fully licensed to play music by SOCAN.

Support us on Patreon
https://www.patreon.com/cinematicsoundradio

Check out our NEW Cinematic Sound Radio TeePublic Store!
https://www.teepublic.com/stores/cinematic-sound-radio

Cinematic Sound Radio
Web: http://www.cinematicsound.net
Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/cinsoundradio
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/cinematicsound

Cinematic Sound Radio Fanfare and Theme by David Coscina
https://soundcloud.com/user-970634922

Bumper voice artist: Tim Burden
http://www.timburden.com
