Future-Proofing Your Storage Strategy with FranklinWH aPower S
BayWa r.e.’s Strategic Partnerships Manager, Daniela Schwartzman, sat down with FranklinWH’s Product Manager, Tristan Cronshaw, for an in-depth conversation on the FranklinWH aPower S. This all-in-one solar and storage solution is designed to help installers grow with confidence. As market conditions shift and homeowners’ expectations evolve, storage has become a long-term energy strategy. Throughout the session, the focus stayed on what installers actually need: simplified design, strong performance, and clear sales positioning. Officially named, “BayWa r.e. Presents: aPower S Deep Dive for Installer Growth,” you can watch the full webinar here or continue reading the blog for key information that was shared during the webinar.  Simplified Design, Reduced System Cost The aPower S features direct PV connection with an integrated hybrid inverter, eliminating the need for third-party microinverters or string inverters. Fewer components mean faster installation and less system complexity overall. Tristan also explored how its DC-coupled architecture maximizes efficiency while allowing simultaneous charging from PV and AC sources. This gives installers greater flexibility across a range of use cases. With 15 kWh of usable capacity, strong continuous discharge performance, and a 15-year or 60 MWh throughput warranty, the system is built to deliver long-term reliability homeowners can trust. Built for Flexibility and Expansion  The aPower S can be expanded with additional units, increasing both capacity and output. Combined with compatibility across common residential volage configurations, installers can confidently design systems tailored to a wide range of property sizes and energy needs. Beyond the battery itself, the FranklinWH ecosystem includes the aGate intelligent energy management center, supporting advanced load management, rapid commissioning, and future-reading installations. The result is a streamlined, single-vendor solution that simplifies service, monitoring, and warranty support. If you missed the live session, or you want to revisit the insights that were shared, you can watch the full webinar recording on our YouTube channel. SHOP FRANKLINWH CONTACT BAYWA R.E. BayWa r.e. Inside the Install: Building a Repeatable, Profitable Repowering and O&M Model
In our most recent webinar, SMA’s Brandon Davis, Director of Distribution, and Tanya Layfield, Territory Sales Manager, joined BayWa r.e.’s Strategic Partnerships Manager, Daniela Schwartzman for a session focused on helping installers navigate this evolving landscape. This webinar brought together industry expertise and real-world insights to help solar professionals turn repowering into a scalable, profitable part of their business.  Officially named, “The Technical and Business Case for a Repeatable Repowering & O&M Model,” you can watch the full webinar here or read the blog below for information that was shared in the session. Why Repowering Is Happening Now During the webinar, Brandon Davis states, “Repowering, in our minds, is the opportunity to upgrade an existing photovoltaic systems inverter and enhance it and maintain the original system functionality but potentially bring additional feature sets to your customer.” Aging inverters, expired warranties, declining system performance, and the absence of the original installer are leaving system owners with limited support. As a result, repowering is becoming a core offering for installers looking to stay competitive while delivering real value to their customers. Identifying and Qualifying Repowering Opportunities Another key focus of the discussion was how installers can efficiently identify repowering opportunities. The SMA team shared practical guidance on evaluating systems based on age, inverter brand, warranty status, and production loss. These indicators allow installers to prioritize leads and focus efforts where repowering delivers the most impact. Creating a Repeatable Sales and Operations Model Beyond technical considerations, the session explored how to structure internal teams to support a successful repowering and O&M strategy. From lead generation and site assessment to sales, permitting, and installation, clearly defined roles and workflows are essential for efficiency and profitability. Brandon and Tanya also shared insights into customer conversations as well as messaging strategies that will help installers build trust with their customers. When the original installer is no longer in business, homeowners and commercial system owners are often uncertain or frustrated. Clear, transparent communication can turn that uncertainty into confidence and long-term relationships. For more details on SMA and repowering, you can rewatch the entire webinar on our YouTube channel. SHOP SMA CONTACT BAYWA R.E. BayWa r.e. Get to Know the Enphase IQ9N Commercial Microinverter
Last week, Enphase joined BayWa r.e. to discuss their latest product in commercial solar: the IQ9N Commercial Microinverter. Chad Bodmer, the Commercial Industrial Trainer at Enphase, joined BayWa r.e.’s Strategic Partnerships Manager, Daniela Schwartzman in an exclusive webinar. Chad Bodmer walked through everything you need to know about this purpose-built solution for 480V three-phase systems.  Officially named, “BayWa r.e. + Enphase: Introducing the IQ9N Commercial Microinverter,” you can watch the full webinar here or read the blog for some vital information that was shared in the session below.  Why Commercial Microinverters? Why Now? Chad opened the webinar by highlighting what makes microinverters the new standard in commercial solar. The value proposition is clear: made in the USA (qualifying for domestic content requirements, FEOC compliant, highest energy production, unmatched reliability, and the lowest operating cost in the industry. What really sets Enphase’s microinverters apart is their distributed architecture. There’s no single point of failure, and the production of one module never limits the others. This translates to a greater system uptime and easier maintenance with total transparency and monitoring. Plus, with 25-year microinverter and 15-year gateway warranties, you’re covered for the long haul.  The Enphase Reliability Advantage  Here’s a statistic that speaks volumes: Enphase’s 1Q9N Commercial Microinverter defect rate is just 0.05%. That means only one microinverter out of every two thousand may need replacement each year. The reason for this reliability? No fans, no moving parts, and no high-voltage DC. Fewer failures mean fewer truck rolls and more uptime. And because their microinverters are so small, Enphase can confirm this reliability through batch testing.  Meet the IQ9N Commercial Microinverter  The star of the show was the IQ9N-3P-277 Commercial Microinverter. Here are some key specs:  Operates on 480 V  Peak power output of 427 VA  Built-in loss of phase protection and rapid shutdown capability  Auto phase balancing  Can support up to 30 microinverters on a single 20A branch circuit The commercial microinverter paired with the IQ Gateway Commercial Pro, which offers web-based monitoring and control, bi-directional communications, remote upgrades, power export limiting, and zero export support. Setup is straightforward via the Enphase Installer App, and the gateway connects through Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or cellular. One gateway can connect up to 300 microinverters. The IQ9N Commercial Microinverter comes with a 25-year warranty, while the gateway has a 15-year warranty. For more details on Enphase’s microinverter, you can rewatch the entire webinar on our YouTube channel.  SHOP ENPHASE CONTACT BAYWA R.E. BayWa r.e. Most installation jobs take about an hour. You can eliminate a major cost barrier while speeding up project timelines.  The Battery Life  Customers can get up to 40% longer battery life with systems like Tesla or FranklinWH batteries. Homeowners can choose which circuits stay on, and SPAN’s software will keep them running until the battery hits 50% capacity. It will automatically shut off in order to preserve the remaining charge.  Making Smart Energy Accessible with SPAN  SPAN is transforming how homeowners interact with their energy systems. From their PowerUP software to the MLO 24 panel, SPAN offers a complete ecosystem for modern homes. Whether you’re looking to maximize solar production, simplify installations, or deliver more value to your customers, SPAN provides tools to make it happen.  For more details on SPAN’s products and features, you can rewatch the entire webinar on our YouTube channel.  SHOP SPAN CONTACT BAYWA R.E.
