For well over a year before it came out, Jacques has been following on social media, the process and progress of author Katherine Rye Jewell while writing: LIVE From The Underground – A History Of College Radio.
As Katherine would unearth believe to be lost treasures (like CMJ charts, schools play list from 1978, articles in favor of censorship for a college radio station from the same colleges student new paper) she’d post these finds and allow you to ride shotgun through every step of the way.
Being a tiny world, Katherine is a professor at Fitchburg State … The same Fitchburg State (somehow) Jacques graduated from AND where he was a DJ on their station WXPL (which is where he met his bandmate/brother John.  And either John or friend of podcast Professor Chris Cook brought Katherine to Jacques’ radar!)
This is a DEEP dive into the over-all history of college radio – how senate land grand acts of the 1930s… led to Pixies and Mission Of Burma becoming college music darlings despite EVERYTHING working against college radio from existing – unsupportive school administrations AND student organizations, record companies not seeing them as worth sending free records to … to Tipper Gore – Parent Music Council and the Batman-forsaken FCC!

Alana Foden got a late start in comedy and build up her confidence in the most unique way – fighting a traffic ticket in court and running sex toy parties! Right!!!
Instantly seeing how awful trying to get booked on “real” shows can be, the scams and how some venues just can’t work for comedy shows, she started producing her own shows.
Being very funny, knowing how to produce events and a relentless work ethic – Alana’s has earned so much respect from all in the New England scene.  As a comic putting in the time towards her craft and as a producer who only wants to create win-win-win (for comics, for the venues and for herself) PLUS prioritizing giving new comics stage time on REAL shows, she has fans in all corners of the industry!
AND … she is a RIOT!!!!

Joe and Jacques flying solo, they chat this past weeks Eclipses, Joe’s kids being 1 of the 12 Angry Men in the high school play, and semi legit parenting tips (what?  Asshole OJ Simpsons dies (of Asshole cancer … as rare “W” for cancer).
We chat seeing last two sideshow guest, Legendary Tony V and the very funny very busy producer, Dave Rattigan at a wanna-be Knights Of (not that) Columbus function hall on a beat up dead end industrial road in Arlington … and that show was awesome. 
Jacques weekly 1v1 beatings from comedy mentor Mike Koutrobis continue and Jacques opened another Mike show with headline and at this point, legit pal, Steve Bjork.
Chat some 2006 Doc Who and friend of podcast, C &amp; O’s Dave FINALLY getting to see his beloved West Ham play live in London.
