The tendency to single out one form of sin as particularly worthy of condemnation is common. That tends to generate self-righteous hypocrisy from comparison. In essence, “that sin” is horrible, and I don’t struggle with that so I’m a better moral person. Drug abuse, alcohol abuse, gluttony (food abuse), gambling abuse, and pride are all serious forms of sin, but the Bible gives great emphasis to the subject of human sexuality and the dangers of sexual sin. 

The reason is that sexual sin is an obstacle to intimacy with God and a spouse which is a foundation for a marriage, a family and a community.
