"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right." How many times have you heard of a "dream job," an extraordinary athletic feat, or even a benevolent vocation that someone has and thought to yourself, "I Could NEVER Do That!" These people don't have superpowers, per se. These normal folks simply have a huge desire to do what it is they're doing and they ultimately have an unwavering faith that they can achieve their goals, no matter how big. Remember, courage isn't the absence of fear. Courage is "going in" in spite of your fears. These are the stories of people who have gone in and fought hard to achieve the unthinkable in spite of the fact that, yes, sometimes they are scared and do have some insecurities. Are you ready to go in? It's my hope that after hearing some of these interviews with thought leaders, artists, athletes, musicians and entrepreneurs that maybe you too will go from, "I Could Never Do That" to, "I Could Do That."

104 Laurie Marbas, MD - Become a Habit Healer: Simple Steps to Transform Your Life
Understanding the transformative power of adopting new habits is paramount in our journey toward healing and personal growth, but we're often misguided in developing new habits thinking we need to do something big, drastic or "all at once." We're caught up in the desire to "break" habits before they break us. What if there was a different way to think about habit change? What if you asked yourself, "How Can I Heal Myself Today?" Dr. Laurie Marbas, MD, MBA is a double board-certified family medicine and lifestyle medicine physician. She emphasizes the notion that instead of merely attempting to break detrimental habits, we should focus on healing them through awareness and intentionality. By doing so, we can cultivate a nurturing relationship with ourselves and create sustainable change that is both manageable and profound. Dr. Marbas shares the significance of developing microhabits—small, actionable steps that can be easily integrated into our daily routines—as a way of becoming our owne "habit healer." This episode serves not only as a guide to personal growth but as an invitation to redefine our relationship with our habits in a more loving and supportive manner. 103 Gary Burr - What If The Beatles Got Back Together?

103 Gary Burr - What If The Beatles Got Back Together?
If you've listened to music, let's say in the last 30 years, then you're likely familiar with my guest today, but not in the way you may think. Gary Burr is a legendary songwriter and vocalist who is behind hit songs for artists like Kelly Clarkson, Kenny Chesney, Lady A, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Juice Newton, Christine Aguilera, Garth Brooks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Carole King, and Ringo Starr…and seriously…that's the tip of the iceberg here. He's had 14 #1 hits in total (so far), 24 top 10s, and 32 top 40 hits to his name - a master of the 4-minute story arc known as a song. But, while I could talk to him for years about his songwriting career, I reached out to him about something else — his foray into fiction. On July 5th, 2024, Gary is releasing his first novel called, Reunion - A Rock-n-Roll Fairy Tale and it is his take on the question…"What if?" What if John Lennon wasn't assassinated? Could they ever come together again and play as a band? And, as a reader, can you let your imagination even go there? I talk to Gary about the process of writing a fairy tale novel. How is it different (or similar) to writing songs? How did he take four of the most famous people in history and script an alternative story? Why tackle someone like the Beatles? Did he know from the outset how it would end? And, most importantly — what does Ringo (who Gary has worked with for the past 20 years) think of this fairy tale? We often think about "what ifs" in our own lives and it is a fascinating idea to explore.
