And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved…” Matthew 24:21-22 (NKJV) “At that time Michael, the archangel who stands guard over your nation, will arise. Then there will be a time of anguish greater than any since nations first came into existence. But at that time every one of your people whose name is written in the book will be rescued.” Daniel 12:1 (NLT) Purpose Of Tribulation: • To Purify Israel • To Punish Sinners • To Preach The Gospel WHAT HAPPENS ON EARTH AFTER THE RAPTURE 1. The Antichrist Will Appear “Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us. 3 Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction. 4 He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God... he can be revealed only when his time comes. 7 For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. 8 Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming. 9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them...” 2 Thessalonians 2:2-10 (NLT) “Then I saw a beast rising up out of the sea. It had seven heads and ten horns, with ten crowns on its horns. And written on each head were names that blasphemed God.” Revelation 13:1 (NLT) “For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. 8 Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming.” 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 (NLT) 2. Judgements Take Place 3 Symbols of Judgement: • 7 Seals (Rev 6) • 7 Trumpets (Rev 8-10) • 7 Bowls (Rev 16) “Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River, and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies toward the west without hindrance. 13 And I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs leap from the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. 14 They are demonic spirits who work miracles and go out to all the rulers of the world to gather them for battle against the Lord on that great judgment day of God the Almighty… 16 And the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon.” Revelation 16:12-21(NLT) 3. The Battle Of Armageddon Revelation 19:1-21 (NLT) DAY OF ATONEMENT Historically: The day the High Priest enter the Holy of Holiest to atone for people’s sins Prophetically: Jesus will come again to get his people whose sins are atoned for. “They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.” Zechariah 12:10 (NLT) “Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world.” Revelation 3:10 (NLT)
