In this episode, Beth and Wendy discuss the case of Cynthia Alvarez, a young girl from Compton, California, who, at age 15, along with her boyfriend, Giovanni "Johnny" Gallardo, murdered her mother and stepfather in 2011. They discuss Alvarez's challenging upbringing, allegations of abuse by her parents, her troubled relationship with Gallardo, and the series of events leading to the murder of her parents, Gloria Villalta and Jose Lara.
