<p>Thank you for downloading the second part of my Istanbul story. If you haven't listened to the first part, please do so first. It includes the first part of my friend Benjy's story growing up in a war torn Syria. </p>
<p>In this episode his story of his childhood under the dictatorship in Syria is truly heartbreaking. </p>
<p>It includes:</p>
<p>* How his mother disappeared after two years of the revolution and what happened to her.</p>
<p>* How he and his brother lived for a further 5 years under the regime, without water and power in their home, after the regime cut off the supply to every home.</p>
<p>* How he joined the Freedom Army as a 13 year old clerk. After witnessing a traumatic event, his desire for retribution led him to the army’s frontline.</p>
