To most, WWE is your only exposure to pro-wrestling, but did you know up until 30 years ago, pro-wrestling was more like the Mafia than a sports league? Did you know that in the 80’s, while wrestling presented a show literally designed for children, that behind the curtain was the most Rated R, sexual, drug addled, sexified, violent, and cutthroat world imaginable? It was a sex, drugs, and muscles world while a nationwide SUCCESSION-like corporate war for national supremacy waged. In this crazy world of 80’s wrestling, ALL these things happened: A wrestler bit a man’s nose off in a bar, a promoter offered a rival’s wrestler $500k to jump leagues with the rival’s title belt, wrestlers were killed for gambling debt with the Mafia, arch-enemies in the ring arrested for drugs WITH each other, a Hollywood actor was slapped on a late night talk show, wrestlers tried to form a union, a wrestler broke his back in an airplane crash to become the greatest wrestler ever, backstage brawls with guys almost killing each other with scissors, guys wrestling a match while an orchestra played music to match the action, a Black wrestler given the character of an African savage animal, a legendary wrestler pulled a ‘57 Magnum on the most famous wrestler in the world, while a fan held off a group of bad guy wrestlers at gunpoint at ringside, and wrestlers were given World title reigns in exchange for sex! These are just some of the building blocks of KINGS OF THE RING, a fictional soap opera that re-creates all the crazy, unbelievable, and outrageous tales of the real world of 80’s wrestling! In the 1980’s, anything went and wrestlers lived a life much wilder than the hardest partying rock stars, because fans then believed that wrestling was 100% real, and the wrestlers went to incredible lengths to protect this illusion. Often at the cost of their own souls... The characters will seem familiar to you, but never exactly the same as real people, and the stories will blow your mind, as you listen knowing that everything is based on the truth! It’s wrestling... it’s the 1980’s ... it’s sex, drugs, and muscles, baby... welcome to the Kings of the Ring.

Julian Cain built this entire Empire-Mania IV main even off the Cold War them of Russian Vladimir Rykoff vs. American Viking Thor Hansen, whose been engaged in a behind the scenes political war with Killian Kavanaugh over who should be the top babyface in the Empire. Jesse James took over the new WWA as President and called for a free "PPV" to run head to head with Empire-Mania IV on WVBS with a main event of Jesse vs. Donny Gold for the World title vacated by an injured Gabriel Angel. Terri Blaze is torn between an offer from Brick Sawyer and Jesse James to join the new WWA as a valet or Criss Stanley's offer to wrestle in an upstart Japanese women's group. Jesse fires Bobby Lee Rivers from the new WWA choosing to keep Davey Boy Givens and eliminate the guilty party regardless of talent. Thor Hansen is stressing out about the lack of commitment from Julian Cain and takes a fishing trip with his bodybuilding buddies, while the Superteam USA both showed up in the EWF. Diamond Donny Gold is still in a funk over Miss Kitty but keeps his focus on wrestling and doing the right thing. Brutal Bob happily relinquishes the Booker spot to Jesse James citing a major disconnect with modern talents and Criss Stanley has arrived in the EWF! Empire-Mania 4 became finalized for Las Vegas with Thor Hansen vs. Vladimir Rykoff and Julian Cain found out from Sal Spinelli that the WWA was for sale and made his offer to Ava Hawkins. Sal earned his return spot to the EWF with this news nugget and brought a Dragoni capo to Puerto Rico to hand over the reins. Criss Stanley had his Warzone match idea rejected in All-South, but Peyton Thomas pitched a version of this in EWF which happened and was viewed as Julian's #1 office guy because of it.Corporal Punishment has been on a mainstream whirlwind, co-starring in Predator and making a deal to be in the GIJOE universe. Masa and Kotaro fired off a shoot kick on Mikasa in the ring, causing a near riot and getting suspended from World Japan Wrestling Amidst the sinking ship of All-South, Burt Ironside lost it and attacked Hammer as a way to break up a backstage argument between the Superteam and the Fantastic Ones. Michael Angel ended his tormented life via suicide after a perfect day with his brother Gabriel. The Diamond Club continue to be the top draw for the WWA, with Donny as champ, Willie & Kenny as the technical heel tag champs, and their new muscle Apollo Sampson, who continues to struggle on the mic as a heel. Sal Spinelli hopes to get into Julian Cain's good graces again by feeding Julian Cain after trying to steal the EWF from him years ago and Terri Blaze finds herself stuck as a valet in All-South despite her wrestling dreams.
