Wrestling with the Tension of Becoming | Genesis 32 * Jacob (Full Teaching)
In this powerful message, I share a word the Lord gave me titled “Wrestling with the Tension of Becoming.” If you remember we shared on the  ⁨@EatDontCompete⁩  podcast a teaching on the same title, but let's just say this was a bit more in-depth. Drawing from Genesis 32:24–30, we follow Jacob’s wrestle with God—his identity shift, his name change, and the tension that shaped his destiny. This message is for anyone who feels the weight of transition, transformation, spiritual tension, or the struggle between who you were and who God is calling you to be. I walk through: What are you really wrestling with? Have you encountered God in the middle of your tension? Does your tension hold a blessing? Has your name changed—but you’re still answering to the old one? Are you walking in your spiritual birthright? I also share my own origin story—my childhood, abandonment, adoption, rebellion, endurance—and how God used every tension in my life to shape the call on my life. This message is both instructional and testimonial, a reminder that God still uses the least likely and builds miracles from messy beginnings. If you’ve ever wrestled with identity, calling, surrender, or transformation… this message will speak to you. God is still changing names, shifting destinies, and calling His people to become everything He ordained. Key Scripture: Genesis 32:24–30 Supporting passages: Genesis 25 • Genesis 28 • Genesis 35 • Genesis 46 • Genesis 27:36 • John 3 • John 17 • Galatians 3 Main Themes: – Wrestling with God – Spiritual tension – Identity in Christ – Name change in scripture – Birthright vs blessing – Calling, purpose, destiny – Transformation and spiritual growth – Becoming who God has called you to be   If this message blessed you, share it with someone who is in a season of becoming.

God Will Answer Your Questions | Hey God, I Have Questions Series Recap | Eat Don’t Compete
This entire series taught me that honest questions don’t weaken your faith — they deepen your intimacy with God. And if you’ve been wrestling with becoming, balance, stewardship, community, or your calling, this recap walks you through every “Hey God, I Have Questions” episode so you can grow spiritually with clarity, confidence, and direction. We’ve walked through an entire season of honest conversations with God — questions that helped shape your identity, your faith, your habits, your community, and your spiritual rhythm. And in Episode 69, we’re recapping all seven episodes so you can revisit the topics that matter most to your spiritual growth. Below are the exact questions we explored and the heart behind each one: EP 62 — “Hey God, I Have Questions” “This whole thing started because my honest questions to God sparked some of the deepest spiritual growth of my life — even in a culture that told me not to question Him.” EP 63 — “Why Am I Wrestling With the Tension of Becoming?” “Becoming is hard because you’ve never ‘became’ before — and wrestling through that tension is actually biblical.” EP 64 — “How Do I Find My Tribe?” “You can do life alone, but why would you, when God created us for community and not isolation?” EP 65 — “How Do I Steward My Blessings Well?” “Stewardship hit me hard — am I truly stewarding my time, finances, relationships, and opportunities in a way that honors God?” EP 66 — “How Do I Balance My Spiritual Life With My Daily Responsibilities?” “Balancing it all taught me this: it’s not about perfection, it’s about surrender — I have to focus more on submitting than striving.” EP 67 — “How Do I Maintain the Posture of Being Chosen Yet Unworthy?” “I had to unlearn the world’s definition of worthiness and wrestle with the biblical truth that I’m both chosen and unworthy at the same time.” EP 68 — “How Do I Steward My Feelings So They Don’t Get in the Way of My Calling?” “Feelings are loud, but they’re not the leader — stewarding my emotions is one of the hardest but most necessary parts of my growth.” Join the FREE 10-Day Devotional Challenge: The Blueprint of Becoming A 10-day, 30-page devotional designed to help you build spiritual discipline, consistency, and intimacy with God. The Study Room (Live Bible study on Thursdays at 6PM EST — free, but replays only live for 72 hours!) Let’s grow, ask hard questions, and pursue God with intention. You don’t have to wait for the new year — start now. Hey God, How Do I Steward My Feelings So They Don’t Get in the Way of My Calling? | Hey God, I Have Questions series (Part 6)
Have you ever wondered why your emotions feel louder when you’re growing spiritually? Sometimes spiritual sensitivity increases not to overwhelm you — but to draw you closer to God. In today’s episode, we’re diving deep into spiritual sensitivity, discernment, and the discipline of paying attention to the presence of God. Last time (in Episode 67), we explored what it means to know you’re chosen yet still feel unworthy. Today, we take that further. When you become more aware of God’s holiness, your spiritual sensitivity often increases — emotionally, mentally, and even physically. Using 1 Kings 19:11–13, Hebrews 5:14, and Psalm 16:8, we unpack: Why God heightens your awareness as you grow in Him How sensitivity can serve your calling instead of overwhelming it How to let Scripture filter your emotions so your faith leads, not your feelings This episode will help you develop spiritual maturity, strengthen your discernment, and embrace sensitivity as a gift God uses to draw you closer. If you’ve ever wondered: “Lord… how do I manage what I feel so it doesn’t distract me from what You’ve called me to do?” — this conversation is for you.
