With comic book movies being one of the biggest genres in the world of movies today, what are the best of the best? It’s actually totally subjective but hey it’s a list on the internet so here’s my picks!

This week, I look at my top 10 favorite comic book movies of all time. From live action to animation, everything is fair game so long as the movie first appeared in theaters. One last note: this is my personal favorites list, not necessarily a best of list.

A while back in 2017, Lego Batman director Chris McKay was attached to direct a live action Nightwing movie. Sadly, that movie never ended up happening but in the meantime, Nightwing fanboy Nathan decide to pitch his idea of what a Nightwing movie could look like. Told over three parts, the story sees the rise, fall, and rise again of Bludhaven’s favorite hero Nightwing!

In our ideal first movie, Nightwing moves to Bludhaven to establish a new identity for himself and move out of Batman’s shadow. But he quickly runs a foul of the biggest mob boss in town, Blockbuster. Now, Nightwing must figure out if he has what it takes to stand on his own, away from Batman’s watch.

In our part 2, criminals of Bludhaven are more dangerous than ever; thankfully Nightwing has help, or does he? He makes an uneasy alliance with a man named Slade Wilson who promises to help him protect the city. What follows is a story of anger and betrayal and threatens to take away everything from our hero.

In our finale, Nightwing has been cast out of Bludhaven and has returned home to Gotham City. Alongside Batman, the two men must put aside their troubled past to uncover the mystery of the Court of Owls. Old wounds are reopened and secrets uncovered that will change things forever!

John Carpenter’s 1978 masterpiece Halloween is finally getting a new game, and not just one game! Boss Team Games, the developer behind Evil Dead: The Game, is reportedly working on not just one but TWO new Halloween video games. According to a report from IGN, both games are set to take place during the original movie and players will be able to relive iconic moments and play as iconic characters from the film. Original film director and composer John Carpenter is even back and working with the creative team on the project.

While many are expecting one of the games to be similar to Dead by Daylight or Texas Chainsaw, Nathan is holding out hope that one of the games will be a story driven single player game. Nathan also hopes that the original game isn’t the only movie involved as there’s lots of fan favorite characters introduced in the later movies.

In both a surprising and not surprising move, Marvel is reportedly bringing back the Russo Brothers to direct Avengers 5, formerly known as Avengers The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers Secret Wars. The Russo Brothers previously directed Captain America The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame. The film has already seen its fair share of behind the scenes problems as the search for a director has gone on for a while and the film may now be on its third writer.

Avengers 5 will also be moving away from using Kang the Conqueror, thus the dropping of the Kang Dynasty name. While not much is known about the current direction for Avengers 5, Nathan has a theory about who the team may be facing off against. Either way, it’s a good bet to imagine Marvel has a few big announcements next weekend at San Diego Comic Con.

A Quiet Place Day One tells the story of how the earth was forever changed when the mysterious aliens first landed on earth. While the trailers teased a large scale action/horror spectacle, the film is actually a much slower and methodical character piece about people just trying to survive.

Directed by Michael Sarnoski, director of PIG, the film star Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn as two characters whose paths cross amidst the chaos. The two must work together to help accomplish a specific task against a ticking clock and against a dangerous threat. Check out Nathan’s full thoughts on the flick!
