Jamie Cashion recounts how, at 15, he became a volunteer firefighter in Joshua, Texas and on Feb. 24, 1984 was trapped in a 2,500-acre grass fire with 18-foot flames and 42-mph winds, burning for 38 seconds after trying to help rescue a stalled water-truck driver; he describes crying out to God, being guided to the last firefighter on scene, and being airlifted to Parkland with 36% third-degree burns. Doctors discussed amputating his fingers, but his paraplegic mother prayed and insisted otherwise. He was transferred to the Shriners Burn Institute, avoided amputation, endured brutal treatment, and later faced social stigma from masks and splints. Cashion became a deputy fire marshal and a lifelong martial artist approaching a 10th-degree black belt. Patty Riddle Kirshner, a Nebraska pastor and evangelist, shares how her life changed when COVID swept through her church in August 2020. Patty spent 83 days in four hospitals, over four weeks in a coma, suffered paralysis from the neck down, and died briefly from cardiac arrest. During that moment, she describes being in heaven's "glory," overwhelmed by God's presence, seeing an unusual sky color and things that stunned her. God told her she could stay or return; she chose to come back because there was more work to do. After extensive rehabilitation, she recovered movement and a national news team welcomed her home. Tragically, she soon faced her husband Ronnie's glioblastoma diagnosis; he died in May 2021. After seven years of Everyday Miracles, I wanted to pause and reflect. In this episode, I'm sharing a very honest prayer I brought before the Lord...and the questions I'm asking Him about what comes next. Is it time to shut the door? What has been shared here has changed me, drawn me closer to a God I thought I knew, but now see in a whole different light. God is so much bigger, more loving, more powerful, more present, and more real than I could have ever imagined. His Word is more alive to me now than ever. I have learned that FULL surrender to Him (while terrifying) paired with obedience is the way to open the door to a whole new revelation and experience with Him! Don't hold back from Him. He is worth more than what we can lay at His feet! This world may feel like a dumpster fire (no, these notes are not AI generated;), but GOD IS STILL MOVING! He is still on the throne!
