As R. Kelly is taken into federal custody without bail, the families of Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary wonder if they'll ever return home. Kelly is set to go on trial in April 2020. He was arrested in July 2019 on a 13-count federal indictment that alleges he sexually abused minors and also conspired to obstruct justice. He has plead not guilty to the charges.

R. Kelly is released from jail and does a controversial interview with Gayle King. The alarming interview became the subject of memes, GIFs, and parodies. Following her rescue by her mother in Surviving R. Kelly Season 1, Dominique Gardner speaks on camera for the first time. Her testimony revealed more details about R. Kelly's control tactics and explored the sisterhood formed between his victims.

In episodes 2 and 3, numerous victims elaborated on their abuse under the hands of global superstar R. Kelly. His younger brother Carey stated R. Kelly tried to bribe him; his older brother said the girls knew they were being videotaped. According to his first underage victim, a budding singer, R. Kelly used her to bait other girls, usually around the age of 14 and 15. She repeatedly watched him have sex with the aforementioned girls she brought to his condo before he eventually turned his abuse towards her. It was also well-documented that R. Kelly used NDAs to silence his victims over the years. Many women stated that he shared his past sexual abuse stories in order to gain their trust and eventually manipulate them. One point made clear throughout both episodes: "He [R. Kelly] can smell a wounded woman a mile away."

Season 2 Episode 1: Interviews with R. Kelly's brothers, inmate Bruce Kelly and younger brother Carey Kelly giving personal accounts of their childhood molestation from a "close relative" and a neighborhood man, Mr. Henry. They recall in uncomfortable detail the very beginning of Kelly's indecent exposure to sex at the tender age of 6. The episode focused on one of his underaged victims, Faith Rogers and her parents. They give shocking accounts of the disturbing threats and torment Kelly and his "handlers" have put them through, which triggered Faith's epileptic seizure. At the first premiere of "Surviving R. Kelly," we learned that the event was brought to an abrupt stop with a threat from an "unknown source" which made everyone evacuate and Kelly's victims ran scared back to their hotel rooms. R. Kelly's caucasian Manager sister-duo denies all allegations of sexual abuse and supports the ghost account "Surviving Lies" which slams and exploits nude photos of every victim that comes forward. It shows viewers that Kelly will stop at nothing to silence his victims and keep them under his control.
