Episode 42 The Tylenol Murders<br /><br />In the Fall of 1982, seven people in the Chicago area fell ill and died after taking over the counter Tylenol that was purchased at various locations across the city. It soon became clear that all seven had died as the result of cyanide poisoning, and city officials working with Tylenol manufacturers raced against time to get the product off of store shelves; sending the public into full fledged panic. The murders were deemed to be the result of product tampering, ushering in new methods of safety sealing the medication; methods which still exist to this day. The authorities didn't have much to work with and sought to ID one bearded man who was captured on grainy store surveillance, but he never came forward, and the murders were never solved.
