An early lead. Out hitting the Chicago Cubs. None of it mattered as the New York Mets have now lost TEN games in a row.  Mark Vientos got the Mets out to a 1-0 lead early with a solo home run, although the lead was short lived as Ian Happ got Freddy Peralta for a homer of his own to tie the game.  Peralta and Cubs starter Jameson Taillon settled in after that and traded zeros. That was until the 6th inning where a pair of two-out walks knocked Peralta out of the game. Brooks Raley came in and faced pinch hitter Carson Kelly. One pitch later and the Cubs had a 4-1 lead.  The Mets had a chance in the 8th, as they got the first two men on to start the inning but were only able to produce one run out of the opportunity.  Their 7-14 start is tied for third worst in franchise history and they'll have to win tomorrow to avoid matching the 11 game losing streak from 2004. Everydayer Club  If you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official.
