In this episode, Jacqueline Jannotta from our last episode, A Family Immersion Year In Genoa, Italy, is back to tell us more about her book, Let’s Leave the Country: A Guide to Your Family Year Abroad, which is the book she wished that she’d had when embarking on her family’s yearlong adventure abroad. She offers her expertise, along with insights and tips from dozens of other families she interviewed who also lived abroad. The book offers guidance on visas, schooling, housing, finances, navigating life outside your comfort zone, even with a new language and much more. Her book is divided in to ten chapters that are each steps to get you abroad and back successfully.

Her burning desire to experience life in Italy led her and her husband to rearrange their lives, put their daughters in a local public elementary school in Genoa, and have one of the most challenging (and fun!) years of their lives.
The experience was so powerful, she wrote a guide for others, particularly those who might be intimidated by the idea, on how to create their own version of a life-changing adventure beyond the border.
