<p>The third in the Batman film franchise saw Joel Schumacher take over for Tim Burton and even saw a new Batman actor with Val Kilmer. A box office success the film received abysmal reviews, but perhaps critics at the time were too harsh. The film combined the campiness of the 60s TV show and and silver age comics with the dark gritty tone of the previous two entries and writers like Frank Miller's darker takes on the character.</p>
