<p>This episode springs from a realization I have had earlier today, and it's something I want to share with you in more detail.</p>
<p>I never really thought of the 5 love languages as in terms of self-care. In my mind, it's always directed outwards: for family, for friends, for others.</p>
<p>After reading the article <em>(link down below)</em>, I can say I have, recently, done all (receiving gifts and quality time both at the top) except give myself words of affirmation. I don't know why that is exactly but, perhaps I'm just not used to it?</p>
<p>A friend once said to me that I easily give compliments—primarily voicing out what I find good and nice first, while others hurry to criticize. I didn't think much of it then. But now I realized these words of affirmation and encouragement—something so simple, something I allow myself to easily give to others—are things I rarely let myself have.</p>
<p>With this realization, I encourage you to encourage yourself.</p>
