1 Kings 13 Jeroboam and the prophet sent to warn him both failed to listen to and follow God, and they suffered the consequences for it. Jeroboam completely disregarded God’s commands, and the prophet was deceived, but still disobeyed the Lord. He trusted what someone else told him that God said instead of doing what God told him directly. Jeroboam let his fear overtake his faith and made up his own set of rules, while the prophet put his faith in a man instead of God Himself. So, how can we keep from making the same mistakes?
