Things are improving in the fight against the Mountain Fire in Ventura County, but it's not over yet. First salvos fired between California Governor Gavin Newsom and President-elect Donald Trump. And the L.A. city council officially voted to approve Jim McDonnell as the next LAPD chief.

Crews are still battling the Mountain Fires in Ventura County as the Santa Ana winds ease up. Insurance prices, however, are not easing up and Pasadena is asking Gov. Newsom to do something about it.
