A Matter of Crime - Should Australia have a sex offenders registry - with Dr Danielle Harris
From the Griffith Criminology Institute, this is A Matter of Crime podcast.
A Matter of Crime takes you behind the headlines and gets you a seat beside Australia's leading criminologists and legal scholars.
In this episode, we speak to Griffith University School of Criminology and Criminal Justice senior lecturer Dr Danielle Harris, about whether public registers should be implemented for child sex offenders. She unpacks whether a sex offenders registry would have prevented some of the horrendous sexual crimes that we hear about on the news, and how we all can take part in preventing these crimes. Dr Harris is one of the foremost Australian researchers in this field, recently releasing a book based on her research interviewing more than 100 men in three countries who were in jail for serious sexual violence.
