<p>A conversation with Penelope Trappes on the sacred art of making space</p><p><br></p><p>What happens when an artist stops trying to be understood and starts listening to something deeper? In this deeply intimate conversation with Penelope Trappes, we explore what it means to trust your own voice when the world may not understand it, why she began removing lyrics from her music, and how grief and beauty can live inside the same creative act. We also touch on cyclical living, releasing work in alignment with the wheel of the year, and creative rituals that support the silence and space we need to create.</p><p><br></p><p>A profound conversation for artists, seekers, and anyone learning to trust their voice.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>About Penelope Trappes</strong></p><p>Penelope Trappes is a UK-based experimental musician, vocalist and producer creating brooding atmospherics and unsettling poetics underpinned by subterranean drone. In 2025, her fifth full-length album A Requiem was released, collecting ten haunting incantations of dreams and nightmares, of death and grief, as well as power and autonomy. Carnal, transcendent cello drones are used to exorcise generational trauma in an evocative, macabre piece of gothic experimentalism.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About me</strong></p><p>Pascale Côté is a creativity guide, therapeutic arts practitioner, and strategic thought partner to artists, culture-builders and creative teams. The challenge is, creative minds often spend just as much time crafting self-limiting narratives as they do creating their art. Dear Creative Mind is a space for creative liberation—a pathway out of the cycle of overthinking, burnout, and stagnation. </p><ul><br></ul><p><strong>Get support for your creative mind</strong></p><ul><li><a href="https://www.dearcreativemind.com/private-coaching-support" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>1:1 support for creatives</strong></a></li><li><a href="https://www.dearcreativemind.com/coaching/p/email-coaching" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>New: email guidance</strong></a></li><li><strong></strong><a href="https://www.dearcreativemind.com/coaching/p/email-coaching" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>The Creative Liberation Portal</strong></a><strong></strong><a href="https://www.dearcreativemind.com/coaching/p/email-coaching" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"></a></li><li><strong></strong><a href="https://dearcreativemind.myflodesk.com/gdwdcc6uxh" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>Free tool: The Creative Confidence Toolkit</strong></a><strong></strong></li><li><a href="https://calendly.com/dearcreativemind/nicetomeetyou" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>Book a free clarity call</strong></a></li></ul><ul><li><strong></strong><a href="https://dearcreativemind.substack.com/" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>Receive the monthly prompts on Substack</strong></a><strong></strong></li></ul><ul><li><strong></strong><a href="https://www.dearcreativemind.com/" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>Explore the full website</strong></a><strong></strong></li><li><a href="https://www.instagram.com/dearcreativemind" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>Find me on Instagram</strong></a></li></ul><ul> </ul><ul><br></ul><p>A special thank you to <a href="https://www.morenoalexandra.com/" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer">Alexandra Moreno</a> for the original music of the podcast.</p><p><br></p>
