His short film "Sew Torn" got him into AFI and scored him a meeting with Joel Coen, who urged him to turn it into a full-length film. He did.Sew Torn, out now, is the story of a seamstress who comes across a drug deal gone awry on a beautiful, isolated Swiss road. She must decide on one of three courses of action.
