<p>Did you know:</p> <p>One in five victims of sexual assault—both women and men—felt blamed for their own victimization.<br> There is a much higher prevalence of sexual assault among women than men (30% versus 8%).<br> One in three (32%) women experienced unwanted sexual behaviour in public.<br> One in five (18%) women experienced online harassment in the 12&nbsp;months preceding the survey done by Statistic Canada in 2019. (https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/85-002-x/2019001/article/00017-eng.htm)</p> <p>To celebrate women's empowerment as we recognize International Women's Day (Mar 8, 2021), we have invited Andrea Arthur-Brown, a seasoned leader who dedicated her entire career in empowering and supporting survivors of sexual assault. She will share her passion, journey in her career, the organization of <a href="https://www.sascwr.org/">Sexual Assault Support Centre Waterloo Region</a> (https://www.sascwr.org/) where she and her team support survivors of sexual violence and<strong> </strong>work to transform systems that promote gender-based violence.
