On the night of May 22, 2019, police were alerted to an apartment lived in by 35-year-old Wade Allen on North Maple Street in Sturgis, Michigan. A report came in about Wade storing his girlfriend's body in his apartment. As police searched the apartment, Wade grew increasingly uncooperative, especially when officers asked to look inside a large cooler sitting in his living room.
