The Art of Skiing and other Goofy shorts
For our fifth and final episode of the cartoonishly-inaccurately-titled Patreon Request "Month" 2025, the randomizer is going all the way back to the 1940s to pick Landon Knoke's request for four specific vintage animated shorts in which everyone's favorite dimwitted cartoon dog-man tries his white-gloved hand at that eternal lifework of dimwitted dog-men everywhere, athletics! Every physical activity from plummeting down a steep snowy mountain with large wooden sticks on your shoes, to hitting a small ball with a different kind of wooden stick and running around in a circle, to carrying a prolate spheroid across a grassy field filled with men trying to injure you, to using your leisure time to endure even MORE strenuous activity just to keep yourself fit enough to continue engaging in such pointless nonsense, the immortal character formerly known as Dippy Dawg shows us how to do it all! Join Tony Goldmark, Mat Brunet, Randee Martin and Gaby Tyrrell as they patronize THE ART OF SKIING AND OTHER GOOFY SHORTS! Shorts covered in this episode: - The Art of Skiing (1941) - How To Play Baseball (1942) - How To Play Football (1944) - Goofy Gymnastics (1949) Here are those anxiety-inducing old ski lift photos we talk about: https://rarehistoricalphotos.com/snow-king-chairlifts-photos Check out my guests' stuff! Who Framed Roger Rabbit
OCT 6, 2025
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
It's our fourth episode of the increasingly-inaccurately-titled Patreon Request "Month" 2025, and in the longest official episode of this podcast to date, the randomizer is going all the way back to 1988 to pick ArthurCrane's request for, quite simply, one of the greatest cinematic triumphs of all time, a tour-de-force of animation, live action and pre-CGI special effects wizardry, wrapped up in a still-relevant metaphorical fable about civil rights and gentrification set in an impossible fantasy world that combines a gritty film noir aesthetic with off-the-wall cartoon zaniness. Directed by future Oscar-winning blockbuster visionary Robert Zemeckis at the peak of his powers, with animation directed by often-underappreciated genius Richard Williams, and representing a Disney studio with new management eager to swing for the fences and conquer the world, this masterpiece was truly a once-in-a-lifetime perfect melding of artistry, ambition and anarchy. And granted, the whole project was blown out of the water just a few years later by the even greater achievement that was Ralph Bakshi's Cool World, but this movie was still pretty darn swell too. Spider-Man (2002)

Spider-Man (2002)
It's our third episode of Patreon Request "Month" 2025, and the randomizer is going all the way back to 2002 to pick Joejira's request for one of the most groundbreaking superhero epics of all time, a box office record-shattering worldwide phenomenon that finally brought one of the most legendary comic book characters ever created to the big screen in a timeless coming-of-age fable about great power and great responsibility, helmed by an offbeat yet aesthetically perfect visionary filmmaker. It also contains an extended cameo from a dead pro-wrestler who used to do Slim Jim commercials, a line of dialogue about Julia Roberts in a thong, and a scene in which Evil Scorsese-Jesus tries to make a case for objectivism on a rooftop while dressed kinda like a Power Ranger. Yeah, this one's a lot goofier than you remember, folks. Join Tony Goldmark, Chris Nebergall, Agatha Vile and VERY special guest Dan Lanigan of Prop Culture and Cinema Relics fame as they angrily demand pictures of SPIDER-MAN (2002)! Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version)
JUN 12, 2025
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version)
It's our second episode of Patreon Request "Month" 2025, and the randomizer is going all the way back to 2023 to pick something we got THREE requests for, from Kris C., Carolyn Knudstrup and Emma Looman. It's an epic patience-testing three-and-a-half-hour live concert film spanning the entire illustrious career of the single most popular and influential musician of our time, arguably the most talented performer ever to rack up eleven #1 singles, ten #1 albums (fourteen if you count re-recordings), fourteen Grammys, over fifty million albums sold in an era when no one buys music anymore, seven hundred and forty-two ex-boyfriends, three thousand seven hundred and nine diss tracks about those ex-boyfriends, one old version of herself who can't come to the phone right now cuz she's dead, AND one animated voice role as a character named after Dr. Seuss's widow. But on this podcast episode, we boldly aim to dig deeper, peel back the layers and answer that all-important age-old earth-shattering so-controversial-yet-so-brave question, "but is her music actually any GOOD?" Join Tony Goldmark, Zach Hurst, Kit Quinn and Garrett Smith as they fail miserably to obtain tickets to TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR (TAYLOR'S VERSION)! Check out my guests' stuff!
