Unlocking the Secret City : Life inside Oak Ridge, Tennessee
History, one of the most important topics of discussion, has always been one of my favorite parts of both school and life. If you agree, this is something for you! Take a step back and look at life in East Tennessee during one of the most difficult times in our Nation’s history. My grandmother grew up inside “The Secret City” of Oak Ridge, TN. The atomic bomb project was one of the largest undertakings that impacted the war. The ramifications of the bomb are often discussed, but seldom are the stories and insights of what life was like inside the city. In order to provide a glimpse into this mysterious place, I interviewed my grandmother to discuss what life was like inside the infamous “Secret City.”
