Stories That Matter

A re-telling of the tale of a maiden selkie, locked to shore by the theft of her skin and the son, who restores it to her.

A re-telling of the Fisherman's Selkie Wife from the perspective of a teenage son.

Beginning to think through critically the notion that stories are just entertainment.  Reflecting on what the design thinking principle of 'focus on the users needs not just wants' could teach us about the telling of tales that are fit for purpose.

What do we need to understand about stories and the immense power that we all wield as the Earth's story-telling animal.

An introduction to how poetry is not a scary, technical opaque art but that how it is taught creates barriers to just hanging out with it and letting it tell you its story.
