Description
<p>William Rankin was flying an F-8 Crusader jet fighter on July 26th, 1959. During the flight, the engine stopped, and a fire warning light flashed. He was forced to eject and parachute into a cloud, where he got stuck in a thunderstorm. He suffered severe decompression which casued his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth to bleed.
