We’re officially into winter with rain and cooler maximums this week and no immediate sign of frosty mornings. Drier than average conditions are also forecast for southeast Australia and southwest Western Australia, while increasing signs in the Pacific Ocean suggest an El Niño pattern could develop later this year.
