Jonathan and Lucy celebrate their engagement at a party hosted by her father, Dr. Wallace Westfeldt, at his home/asylum for the rehabilitation of the criminally insane. When Count Dracula shows up unscathed from the shipwreck in pursuit of Lucy, he is rebuffed. While waiting for Lucy to come around, the Count sets his sights on the vulnerable and willing Mina.
