Also, former NFL lineman, Jamie Dukes joins us to promote the newest podcast coming to Barstool Sports, “21st & Prime” featuring himself and his best friend since 1985, Deion Sanders. Fresh off of his performance in Judd Apatow’s “The King Of Staten Island,” Derek talks about what he learned from rooming with Pete Davidson when they were aspiring standup comedians in 2013. Derek is opening for his friend and former roommate on tour and talks about how Pete Davidson mastered his rise to relevancy. “On top of him being funny, he knew how to be famous… if a girl dated a rapper that was hot, and they broke up, he would try to date that girl.” After over a decade of NYC standup comedy, Derek Gaines talks about still being star-struck by Dave Chappelle, getting big-timed by Chris Rock, and put on game by the late, great Patrice O'Neal. He also starred in the first two seasons of Tracey Morgan’s sitcom “The Last OG” and calls the former SNL star the “Ol Dirty Bastard of standup comedy.” After updating Derek on OBJ’s shit, he talks about being a “cul-de-sac black” growing up, watching porn on-demand, and how his new comedy album “Fuccboi Ground Zero” was inspired by dating randos in the city. From Tupac to Biggie Smalls, to Mariah Carey and Nas, Scoop started his rise in New York City along with these legends during the golden age of hip-hop. The Grammy Award-winning rapper tells us what Tupac and Biggie would be doing socially if they were still with us today. “If Pac was alive now, he wouldn’t even be f*cking with hip-hop … he would be out there in the streets.” Fatman Scoop tells us how he started his radio career at HOT 97, how important it was for him to pivot when the coronavirus completely stopped his cash flow, and why he could never be jealous of DJ Khaled. Before the interview, Willie and Brandon react to the news of Chadwick Boseman's death and decide what actors they'd like to see carry the Black Panther franchise.
