Passengers on Snowpiercer are no strangers to death. Every mile they pass by the frozen world outside their windows, they roll by vast graveyards filled with what remains of the world before they got on the train. Once aboard, regardless of their status as ticketed or not, they were given a chance to outrun death thanks to Mr. Wilford’s Engine Eternal. But outrunning death doesn’t mean that it’s not right there at their heels, snatching at them and picking off those that lag behind.
In “Born to Bleed”, Pike and Layton tempt their tenuous relationships with each other and in turn with death itself. Using a dispute resolution tradition from their time in the tail, the former revolutionaries have to either talk through their differences – or be willing to kill for them.
