In the wake of Andrew Wood's death, Chris Cornell sought to mourn through music...writing music to honor his friend who'd died of a drug overdose. In doing so he convinced Wood's former Mother Love Bone bandmates, Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard, to help him flesh out and record the music along with Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron...and lead guitarist Mike McCeady (who'd been recently jamming with Ament and Gossard in a new project which would eventually become Pearl Jam).
