Santosh Kocherlakota, one of the Co-founders of Earthen Tunes talks about their journey. Founded by alumni of NID - Vidyadhar Bhandare, Santosh Kocherlakota, and Nakul Lathkar, Earthen Tunes designs sustainable shoes using indigenous wool sourced responsibly from local pastoral and weaver communities. With their cross-subsidization initiative, these shoes are made accessible and affordable to farmers.
The team spent extensive periods of time in rural India, to gain deep insights and understanding of the problems faced by people in rural India.
