17. From Spooky Wooky to Gambling Ghosts

Fall is here! Changing weather, falling leaves, pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween. T thought it would be a great idea to talk about superstitions as we enter Spooky season. And that’s exactly what we did….for the most part. In this episode we talk about some superstitions/customs that are in the Black community. Of course, we didn’t talk about too many different ones as we slid from topic to topic, but we definitely covered some major ones. With all the time we spend on social media, we’re bound to come across some new slang that the kids are using. But what if that new “slang” is really just Black people talking and being themselves in front of the whole world? In this episode, we discuss blaccents: what they are, why someone would have one, and how we feel about it. This is just our take on it, but it is an interesting conversation. This is the beginning of season 2 part 2 or what we call our redemption arc. 2021 has not been the kindest to us and we’ve been busy holding onto our sanity while the world spins into pandemic pandemonium. Is it just us or does 2021 seem harder to deal with than 2020? In this episode, we talk about what we want to see in the future of Carry the Three and somehow the proper name for a large cookie type dessert. Cookie pizza? Cookie cake?
