Adam Tierney (13 Demons Dead) Interview
Adam Tierney has spent two decades directing video games at WayForward, putting his fingerprints on titles like River City Girls, Aliens, Silent Hill, and Batman. But long before any of that, he was a kid who loved comic books, and he never really stopped. This week Jeremy sits down with Adam for a lively conversation about how a lifelong passion for the medium ultimately collided with a real opportunity to work in it. We talk about what it means to transition from game scripting to comic scripting, why those two forms are more different than they look from the outside, and what he learned about visual storytelling by blending Shakespeare with giant monsters in the latest issue of Monsterpiece Theater. We also dig into 13 Demons Dead, his first original graphic novel, coming from IDW Publishing this August, about a fourteen-year-old girl who accidentally kills a demon and inherits the job of hunting the rest of them, all while surviving high school.
