<p><strong>Rebuilding Trust: The Gateway Between Fear and Faith</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Faith is a key component of living fully free. But what if our faith has wavered in the aftermath of pain or betrayal? How do we get to a place of trusting when our brain senses danger? In Episode 17, Karrie explains the biological and spiritual reasons that betrayal and pain in our story affect our ability to trust. </p><p> </p><p>The brain has systems in place that exist to keep us safe. When we are hurt, the brain creates pathways that will remind us of that specific danger. When trust is broken over and over again, our threat systems are on high alert constantly. This hyper-vigilance becomes disruptive to daily life and our ability to thrive is taken away. </p><p> </p><p>How do we rewire the brain to begin to trust? Through the process of healing the wounds in our story, we can begin to find goodness. When we have grieved and repented, we see more clearly the ways we can trust God, self and others.
