Climate change is affecting everyone in one form or another. In Zambia we are experiencing a drought, which then affects hyrdo electric power stations. In turn, load shedding measures have been put in place very abruptly and with extreme measures. Clearly these challenges present us with an invitation to come up with new ways of living.

Zimbabwean Lumbie Mlambo, who received the UN Global Leadership Award, is a Global Goals Ambassador. She earned degrees from Texas Woman's University and Indiana University South Bend. Lumbie made the decision to carry on her orphaned father's legacy after being inspired by the humanitarian work he did in his neighborhood despite never having attended school. She established the nonprofit organization JB Dondolo, after her father, with the goal of facilitating marginalized people' access to vital natural resources. Lumbie speaks up about issues affecting women and girls around the world and offers her knowledge and expertise on solutions.
