In his new book, King of Kings, Baird explains that every ruler—in every nation throughout history—is required to “be wise . . . [and] serve the Lord with fear” (Ps. 2:10-11). And this doesn’t mean advancing some vague notion of “good,” but what God decrees as “good” in His righteous laws, as summarized in the Ten Commandments. To put the matter simply—all civil governments must promote Christianity as the only true religion.
