It was an incomprehensible murder which left jury members in tears. But the death of nine-month-old Mollie Norman at the hands of her uncle ultimately changed the way police investigate child homicides. Trevor Stoker was babysitting Mollie when he took her life in a series of vile assaults. His sole motivation for attacking her was his hatred of her father. At Manchester Crown Court in 2006 Stoker, a former soldier, was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 17 years.
