This week I'm talking with Lara Barton, the artist behind the podcast's beautiful cover art, about The Wachowskis' Speed Racer from 2008! We chat about fun 60s-ish aesthetics, color theory, narrative structure, what modern camp looks like, anti-capitalism, and overall enjoying movies in spite of critical opinions.

We are talking about these things almost exclusively in terms of Van Gogh’s life, so if you’re familiar and comfortable with those (sometimes gorey) details, you will likely not be bothered by this conversation. Today I'm talking with Nicolette Paglioni about the stylistic masterwork that is Loving Vincent, the 2017 film where every frame is hand-painted. It's a masterful film about the life and death (mostly death) of Vincent Van Gogh, and if you ever wanted to know something about the man Nicolette will be happy to share it with you. We talk about many nuances of his life, the wonder of animation and rotoscoping, making art, and mental illness. 

Today I'm talking with my darling wife about a movie that captivated the kids of the 2000's! Or at least captivated enough of us to get two sequels.
