A show, where Founders show up with the courage required to demonstrate a new model of leadership: one where they admit that there is something important they do not know. In each episode, Slim engages his guest in an empathic conversation to demonstrate that we can find answers to our most pressing conundrums if we can engage in such a conversation.

How can I Feel Like It’s Okay to Tell my Story? / Chris Prange-Morgan
In our fourth episode of the season, we host Chris Prange-Morgan, Author of “Broken, Brave and Bittersweet.” Chris wants to tell her story in way that does not make her feel selfish. While she is not our typical Founder guest, I know many Founders who go through the same struggle when sharing their story. So in this episode, we explore Chris’ inquiry into this challenge of telling our story. Guest Bio: Chris Prange-Morgan, M.A., MSW, considers herself a student of all types of trauma. The adoption of her son in 2009 immersed her in issues of developmental trauma, which have continued to have a life-changing impact on her family. Prange-Morgan has sought to better understand collective and generational trauma and its effect on individuals after she suffered a life-changing accident in 2011 and became a trauma survivor herself. Prange-Morgan’s story has been featured on The Today Show, The Trauma Therapist Project, CBS, The No Barriers Podcast, Milwaukee Magazine, The Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and The Conversation Project. Her articles have appeared in The Huffington Post, Psychology Today, Amplitude magazine, Able Outdoors Magazine, CPTSD Foundation, The Mighty, Elephant Journal, and Tiny Buddha. Before becoming a parent, Prange-Morgan worked for more than 10 years as a mental health therapist and social worker with adults in the criminal justice system—most of whom had histories of trauma. She has a Master’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago, a Certificate of advanced graduate study in pastoral counseling from Neuman College, and a Master of Arts in religious studies from Cardinal Stritch University. While these clinical degrees have been helpful, most of the knowledge and wisdom she has gained has come from her own life experience and learning to listen with a retrospective lens. Prange-Morgan gained the invaluable skill of sitting with painful emotions by providing clinical pastoral care to hospitalized patients. She sees them as vehicles to understanding. Prange-Morgan has presented to an array of educational and healthcare institutions on the topics of trauma, disability, adoption, grief, and loss. She and her husband, Scott (a school psychologist), have a podcast and website, Full Catastrophe Parenting, dedicated to helping parents and professionals in the trenches of working with challenging family/life circumstances. Chris continues to provide coaching, speaking, consulting and retreat work. Her memoir, Broken, Brave & Bittersweet- forging fiercely through disability, parenthood and other misadventures will be released in May 2023.
