Description

You’re Watching That AGAIN! is the movie podcast from Nerd Subculture where Edwina and Jarrod unpack the films they’ve watched far too many times, and the emotional connections that keep pulling them back in.

Following the sudden passing of Nicholas Brendon, we decided to dedicate a tribute episode to one of our favourite films in his career, the cult classic Psycho Beach Party. It was never a box office hit, but over the years, this strange, hilarious, and genuinely unique film has built a loyal following. Blending 1960s beach party movies, Hitchcock-inspired psychological thrillers, and campy 70s slasher films, it feels like the kind of bold, chaotic movie that simply would not get made today. Featuring an incredible cast of rising actors, Psycho Beach Party became one of those films we found ourselves revisiting again and again. In this episode, we talk about why it has stayed with us for so long, what Nicholas Brendon brought to the film, and the complicated feelings we have around his death.

You can also reserve your copy of the Limited Edition Blu-ray Yesterday Is Almost Here using the link below.

YESTERDAY IS ALMOST HERE - Limited Edition Blu-ray [Pre-Order Reservation Link] or find it on our Linktree

In Yesterday Is Almost Here, Nicholas Brendon plays struggling screenwriter Douglas Wynter, a man spiralling after the death of a close friend and unable to finish the script that could save his career. Hoping for a reset, his wife Veronica arranges a quiet weekend getaway, but when an estranged friend and his mysterious wife unexpectedly arrive, buried tensions, dangerous obsessions, and painful truths begin to surface. What follows is a psychological and deeply personal journey through grief, identity, addiction, and self-destruction.

Follow us on:

TikTok

Instagram

YouTube

Facebook

Threads
