None of us are or were exempt from sin.  Like the woman in this chapter, we were condemned and deserving of death, but someone who could have sealed our fate decided to pause and remind our accuser that he too was condemned and he had to drop his stones.We have been given great grace! What are we going to do with it - continue in our sin or will we go and sin no more?
