I truly don't think anyone else wants to see Wilmington's entrepreneurship scene grow more than Jim. Jim is constantly connecting entrepreneurs in the area, chatting with VCs for helpful content, arranging events, and sharing articles. He's doing so much for the city of Wilmington that he has even created his own business to help cities develop their entrepreneurial ecosystems. Adam and I connected when I was looking to start a collective of young entrepreneurs in Wilmington, NC. I am wanting to create a co-working space / content house / community of entrepreneurs aged 20-30 so we can learn from each other, learn from others, build businesses, and make content. I met Eddie on Entre, the social media network for entrepreneurs, investors, and creators. He's a software developer that now if coaching others, like me. We've been on previous zoom calls so I knew this podcast would be high energy, but also casual. Eddie and I chat about learning coding language, nocode, software as a service, startups and businesses to watch out for, and much more. 

We originally wanted to do this podcast before the grand opening of Common Desk - Wilmington, NC, but here we are. We get to chat with fellow UNCW Alum, Alaethea Hankins about her transition from marketing, and working in startups, to now working as VP of Ops for Common Desk, a larger company. She gives us key insight into what Common Desk does, small business culture, and what graduating college students should look for when searching for a job.

Quick and to the point. Paul Szurek, CEO of CoreSite and I discuss operations for a company, cloud systems, data management, and position development. Growing up around business for most of his life, Paul has learned from positions in business law, and as a CFO to now be a CEO. Paul states that being a CEO isn't all what it's cracked up to be, but also offers great tips for those who aspire to become CEO one day.
