Details

Fave Five From Fans is a weekly Podcast where I invite a friend with whom I share a common interest in some Pop Culture topic, i.e. Horror Movies, Literature, Toys, etc., and we each make a list of our Favorite Five things from that common genre. Please note the distinction between “Favorite” and “Best” or “Top”, as I want my guests to feel free to make their choices based on whatever criteria THEY see fit. Sure, it can be rated on scripts, story, cinematography, but also know that if it holds a special place because of a personal reason, it could be thrown in there.

FFFF Ep210 Fave Five Sci-Fi & Fantasy Films of the ‘80s
Buckle up, fans — this week we're blasting off to a galaxy of laser swords, warp drives, and worlds beyond imagination! Host Jamie Ray is joined by first-time guest Chris from the Longbox Crusade's "Best Under 5" podcast for a conversation that's out of this world. The 1980s were truly the golden age of Science Fiction and Sword & Sorcery on the big screen. It was a decade where anything felt possible — where audiences lined up around the block to watch rebels battle empires across the stars, barbarian warriors clash with sorcerers in ancient lands, and everyday kids stumble into adventures that were anything but ordinary. Practical effects, synth-heavy scores, and pure storytelling ambition made '80s genre films unlike anything before or since. From the gritty darkness of Blade Runner to the thundering heroics of Conan the Barbarian, from the swashbuckling fantasy of Willow and Labyrinth to the pulse-pounding thrills of Aliens and The Terminator — Hollywood was firing on all cylinders, and genre fans were eating it up.Together, Jamie and Chris dig into their Fave Five Sci-Fi & Fantasy Films from this legendary decade. They'll compare lists, defend their picks, and maybe spark a debate or two along the way. From epic space adventures to sword-and-sorcery classics, the '80s gave us movies that defined childhoods, launched franchises, and still hold up decades later. Was your favorite film left off the list? Let us know! And be sure to check out Chris and the crew over at the Longbox Crusade's "Best Under 5" podcast for more great content from a fellow fan.So grab your flux capacitor, fire up the hyperdrive, and hit play — this is one episode you won't want to miss!Find out more about Chris by visiting on X ( https://x.com/blackbeltx21 ) and streaming on YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/@longboxcrusade/search?query=best%20under )Links can be found on our profile page and at www.linktr.ee/hulkboy. FFFF Ep209 Fave Five Time Travel Movies Louisiana Comic Con Panel 2026
We're taking it to the floor of Louisiana Comic Con 2026 — and things got loud! This week, I'm joined live on stage by Nelson Gonzales, host of the fantastic Average Home Theater Reviews podcast, for a wild, crowd-fueled conversation about our five favorite time travel movies… that are absolutely, definitively, not Back to the Future. That's right — we're leaving the DeLorean in the parking lot. 🎬⏱️From mind-bending paradoxes to pulse-pounding action, heartbreaking twists to total cinematic chaos, Nelson and I dig into the time travel films that had us on the edge of our seats, rewinding (pun intended) scenes just to wrap our brains around them. The crowd at Comic Con had plenty of opinions too — and trust me, they did NOT hold back.Whether you're a die-hard sci-fi nerd, a casual movie lover, or someone who still loses sleep over plot holes, this episode has something for you. Expect laughs, spirited debates, a couple of strong hot takes, and maybe a mild argument or two about what actually counts as a "good" time travel movie.Grab your popcorn, strap in, and let's jump through some cinematic wormholes — Convention Hall style!Find out more about Nelson by visiting their social media accounts like Instagram  (@tk_gonzo1), X/Twitter (@AHT_Reviews), YouTube (@averagehometheater4901), and Facebook.Links can be found on our profile page and at www.linktr.ee/hulkboy. FFFF Ep207 You Watched WHAT?!? Panel at Louisiana Comic Convention 2026
Recorded Live: Saturday, March 14, 2026 · Lafayette, LAWhat happens when two bad movie enthusiasts take over a panel room at the Louisiana Comic Convention? Pure, glorious chaos. In this special live episode, host Jamie Ray is joined by Jeffrey Corbello — member of Plastic Microphone Studios and host of the Red Dog Terrain YouTube Channel — for a panel called "You Watched WHAT?!?" Recorded live in front of a crowd in Lafayette, Louisiana, the two dig into some of their all-time favorite bad movies and make the case for why they love them anyway. From the low-budget, gorilla-suited madness of Robot Monster to the gleefully ridiculous Jason X — where Jason Voorhees takes his machete to outer space — Jamie and Jeffrey celebrate the films that are so bad, they've somehow become essential. It's a love letter to bad cinema, filmed live with a crowd of fellow fans who clearly get it.Whether you're a die-hard devotee of schlocky sci-fi, cheese-soaked horror, or just movies that have absolutely no business being as entertaining as they are, this one's for you.Find out more about Jeffrey and Red Dog Terrain by visiting Instagram and YouTube. FFFF Ep206 Fave Five Opening Song Rifts

FFFF Ep206 Fave Five Opening Song Rifts
What's the first thing that hooks you? Before the vocals kick in, before the chorus lands — it's that opening riff that either grabs you by the collar or lets you walk away. This week, your ever-enthusiastic host Jamie Ray sits down with the legendary Dame Judy D. to count down their Fave Five opening song riffs that stop you dead in your tracks. And here's the twist: we're keeping it off the fretboard entirely. No guitar heroes here — this episode is a love letter to the keys, the brass, the bass lines, and every other instrument bold enough to open a song without a six-string in sight. From the iconic to the unexpected, Dame Judy D. brings her signature wit and encyclopedic music knowledge to a list that might just change the way you listen to the first five seconds of a song.(And yes — we know. "Stairway to Heaven" is not on this list. Move on.)🎵 Tune in, make your own list, and let us know: did your favorite make the cut?Links can be found on our profile page and at www.linktr.ee/hulkboy.
