On November 15, 1983, deputies respond to calls of a "suspicious" van parked at a Highway 1 turnout about three miles north of world famous Hearst Castle in San Luis Obispo County, California. Inside the van deputies find the body of Toby Tate, 41. She had been shot in the head in what appeared to be a possible robbery. Her purse was missing as was a nikon camera.
